Integrated Circuits (Erlangen, Germany) has developed a navigation system that uses a completely new approach: Instead of satellite signals, it uses the radiation of wireless LANs installed in the environment. Within densely populated cities, the system is even more exact than GPS or similar techniques, the institute claims.
