Virginia Tech team takes software route to system cooling

The Natio 5b4 nal Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded Virginia Tech researchers $350,000 to develop thermal reduction techniques, based on program phase analysis, to prevent or control "thermal emergencies" in scientific applications and systems.
