Maxim has introduced the MAX13485E/MAX13486E half-duplex RS-485 transceivers, which feature ESD protection, fail-safe circuitry, hot-swap capability and offer +/-15 kV ESD protection using the IEC 61000-4-2 air-gap discharge method.
