Showa Denko tips hybrid process for compound semis |
Japanese conglomerate Showa Denko K.K. is claiming a major breakthrough in the production of compound semiconductors based on gallium nitride (GaN) and other nitrides with a process dubbed "Hybrid PPDTM." The company has already started building a plant at its Chiba site that uses the process, to make devices targeted at blue/white LEDs.
