Ominous signs dim IC growth outlook

The industry managed modest growth in 2006 and should again post moderate gains of 5 to 12 percent this year albeit a slowdown in GDP growth among countries worldwide, persistent chip inventory of overhang and lackluster demand in the PC and wireless markets.
