Japanese trio bundles forces for LCD drivers

Renesas Technology, Sh 5b4 arp Corp. and Powerchip Semiconductor have agreed to launch a joint venture for the production of drivers and controllers for Liquid Crystal Displays. With the move, the companies plan to weather the fierce price competition the see ahead.
